An apartment to remember
Tokyo 88 was made for weekends like this: 88 m², a kitchen island, a big terrace with loungers overlooking the rooftops and – the detail guests mention most – a record player with vinyl. Smart lighting sets the mood with a tap, and the beds and pillows, guests say, are "better than at home".
A weekend plan
Friday evening: settle in, a glass of wine on the terrace, then a stroll along the pedestrian zone to King Milan Square.
Saturday: coffee and breakfast at home, then Niš Fortress – through the Istanbul Gate, along the Nišava, with a stop at one of the cafés inside the walls. Lunch or dinner in Kazandžijsko Sokače, where grilled meat, burek and home-style dishes come with old-town music.
Sunday: a trip out of town – the Sićevo Gorge viewpoint, or Niška Banja for an easy day by the thermal springs. Check-out is by 11 am; ask us about a later departure.
Little extras that make the difference
- Netflix on the big screen for a night in
- An espresso machine for coffee in bed
- A terrace for breakfast in the sun
- Courtyard parking – the car doesn't move all weekend
If a terrace with city views and three TVs suits you better, have a look at West Side 99, in the same building.
